I mentioned that I had been tempted to slip back into the life-sucking, ambition-sapping, time-stealing black hole (World of Warcraft) with a free 10-day pass and upgrade to the first expansion pack, The Burning Crusade. And for 10 days I did return to Azeroth and looked around the new and improved "world" of Warcraft but it wasn't enough to convince me that I needed to spend $15 a month to continue playing (as well as purchasing the $30 upgrade that was only "free" for the 10 day trial run), but I'd be lying if I said I didn't enjoy looking around at the new changes and taking my characters out to kill some nasty beasties.

Just getting the game to let me back in took several days and multiple downloads. First, I had to reinstall the game from the 4 CDs and then patch after patch was installed...as well as the huge expansion pack download. I thought they would never end (below are a few of the patches/updates I had to install).

I freely admit that once I started playing again, I had a lot of fun. But I also found myself neglecting other, arguably more important, things in my life for those 10 days - including this very site. My neglect wasn't as bad as it has been in times past, but I did see a difference in my ambition to do anything very productive.

There's so much virtual world to explore and so many character variations (based on which abilities, trades, etc you develop for your character) that it's easy to see why it such a hard habit to break. Here are my characters. I've tried most of the races, character classes, major trades and skills with each of them.

We'll see if I can keep the monkey off my back when I finish the other, much-less-addictive, time-wasters that I waste a little time on here and there (the never-finished Diablo II and Command & Conquer games) or if the itch comes right back.

I'm working on yet another post that's sure to stimulate the interest of...well, no one actually. But in the meantime, I'd thought of something I wanted to change with the contenterizer (the tool I use to create these posts), so I needed a post to test with.

And this is it.

I'll add the meat to this meatless sandwich soon. Or to use an analogy more appropriate to the situation, I'll add several more flavorless slices of bread to the sandwich soon.

I've given the "My Sketches" section a much more appropriate name: it's now called "My Scribbles". And I also finally grew tired enough of the hassle involved with adding new scribbles to the site that I made the pages dynamically data-driven.

I've also added several of the scribbles that I've done in the last year or two, reorganized the scribbles already there and removed few that were never all that great to begin with.

So, what are the new scribbles? Here are a few of the new additions (I think - some may have actually already been there):

There are actually quite a few additional scribbles that I will probably get around to uploading eventually. If you wonder why I even bother, just remember this: the drivel here is more for me than for any of you. Not that I don't love you both, but...
