check out this link for helpful interview stuff: http://www.joelonsoftware.com/articles/GuerrillaInterviewing3.html
Of course, that assumes the person interviewing you isn't wasting your time asking esoteric language-specific stuff that you could find out using a Google search. Apparently a bad assumption.
Also, see this blog post about programming language trends: http://www.voidspace.org.uk/python/weblog/arch_d7_2007_02_03.shtml#e622
Be sure to follow the links to the 3-4 different graphs. The sourceforge one is interesting since it goes back further in time, but it is biased towards open-source developers.
Locally, I'm seeing as many or more C# jobs as Java in my searches. I've been doing Java the last 2 years. Its better than C++, but Java sucks.
I've been fiddling with C# for a couple weeks now, so far I like. |

I have to agree with Steve, most of the .Net jobs are going to be C# based (they were here at Cox and most of what I've seen elsewhere as well). So if you are going to go down that road, that's the path I would take.
Well, hope you and the family are doing well. Drop me a line sometime and we can meet up for lunch. |
